Editors can not delete collections that are part of a project (they don't own) when deleting a project even though they are allowed to delete documents, individual collections, and the project.

After reviewing the design this is a non-issue. We actually don't want any user to delete anything except the actual project when "delete project" is used. Collections and documents should NOT be deleted when a project is deleted.
