Preprocessing : Automatic Image enhancement #55

Shall we enhance images before training ?

The synthetic images generated from SPADE trained on Flickr landscapes look like professional photos. Noticing Flickr is full of enhanced, retouched landscape, I wonder if enhancing images before training any generative algorithm on flood scene would help results look less dramatic.

Here is an example of a Deep Photo Enhancer ready to use.

Sounds like a good idea ; results are pretty good and could account for the disparity in weathers at the time of pictures. In any case, I think we ought to have a thorough conversation about the amount and quality of data we have / aim for.

You could prepare a pipeline in floods-gans for that purpose
