Lag/Freezing Only on Chrome #2623

Submitter: Kijuto Since the latest update about a week ago the extension has been running abysmally on Chrome specifically. I have tried it with no other extensions on and the problem persists. Site loads and refreshes fine with the extension off and on other browsers but constantly hangs when using Chrome. This is using the standalone, not Tampermonkey/Etc.

Is this issue going to get fixed? What happened to other threads?

I am also getting this issue. It's not with every thread but there are times when I can't click on anything on the page save the chrome UI up at the top. It's like the page itself freezes.

Do you have the extension? For me what worked is disabling and deleting the extension (backup your settings in 4chan X by exporting them first) and instead using the userscript version through Tampermonkey. Although, on the latest version of the userscript I still had a bit of lag so I downgraded it to 1.14.18.0 and since then it's been smooth sailing. Alternatively you can switch to Firefox if you'd like.

Only thing I've been able to somewhat find out is if I've gotten a lot of (You's) then the chance of it happening goes up. I honestly have no other information other than it happens in threads I post in.

For me reproduction is as simple as:

1) Use Chrome 2) Open a thread with more than about 10 posts 3) Sit around while the page is frozen for 2-3 minutes (You can scroll, but nothing works, no mouse over expand, no clicking things, etc), giving you several "Tab is unresponsive" popups before finally loading everything

It happens on 100% of threads that aren't completely fresh and empty. Seems to be related to quote links, as threads with more quotes freeze worst, go to a large sticky and it can take 5+ minutes before it loads.
