I like it as it is, but an option probably wouldn't hurt. But it does need to be in menu in catalog mode.
Right now Yandex is in the default list as an example, commented out.
I use google reasonably often so don't mind it next to all images, but things like iqdb, tineye, yandex etc for when google fails would be nice to have somewhere without cluttering up the screen.
On second thought, I think I like this idea. You could add a ;fileinfo
(open to suggestions on the name) to the entry if you wanted it in the file info. And, yes, that would mean we could turn a lot more on by default. Maybe something like this:
https://www.google.com/searchbyimage?image_url=%IMG;fileinfo
http://eye.swfchan.com/search/?q=%name;types:swf;fileinfo
http://iqdb.org/?url=%IMG
https://www.yandex.com/images/search?rpt=imageview&img_url=%IMG
//tineye.com/search?url=%IMG
//saucenao.com/search.php?url=%IMG
http://regex.info/exif.cgi?imgurl=%URL

Yeah, my settings are quite old in that regard. I still have Foolz instead of moe on there as well.
If you're going to have the ";fileinfo" you might want to remove them from the menu with that indicator, to prevent duplicates (if you weren't already going to do that). People who want them in both could simply add the same one again without the ";fileinfo".
Or you could do it the other way around and have the ";menu" tag instead. Same thing, but might be easier on people to adjust, since they won't have the ";fileinfo" indicator next to their search engines yet and they'd just be gone when they update (since you're not patching those settings).

Yes, that was the idea.

That would cause duplicates in the catalog menu, though. So we'd want either an option for both or duplicate removal.

Yes, ;menu
is probably better.

The links to search for things on IQDB, WAIT, etc can come in handy, but they clutter up the page more than I'd like. I'd love an option to have them all inside a dropdown menu next to the image, like what the native extension does. That way it'd be possible to use them when you want to but they wouldn't be all over the page the rest of the time.
The sauce links come in handy but create unnecessary clutter, it would be nice if there was an option to move them to the general dropdown menu like the inline 4chan extension does.
Pretty self-explanatory. I don't use it that often and don't need to see it next to every image. Would be cool if you could separate them, too. Also, might be useful to have yandex as part of the default ones next to iqdb, google etc as well (if it's not there already, I've had these settings for a while).
