Keyboard controls won't change to what I set them to

Describe your system:
 - Operating System (be specific): Ubuntu 12.04
 - Machine type (32-bit or 64-bit): 32bit
 - Mupen64Plus version:1.99.5
 - Plugins used:Default

For visual artifacts, give:
- game name and CRC/MD5 hash (printed on console)
- description of the artifact (missing polygons, flashing, wrong colors,
etc)

Describe the problem: I used the mupen64plus.cfg, but the controls still use 
the default ones.

Please provide any additional information below.
Before I was editing the .ini file, but you said to edit this file, I did and 
no luck. Honestly I have no idea why it's not working.

Wait I got it working by just redownloading the whole thing lol. I must have 
messed it up somehow.
