mdac27 missing #19

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.mdac27 missing. need for ems SQLMANAGER
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
mdac27 is not available for installation.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ubuntu 10.10 32 bit. wine 1.3.17

Please provide any additional information below.
I don't know why it got removed, but now ems does not work because of it.

Doesn't mdac28 work for your app?

mdac27 is no longer provided for download by Microsoft,
although I do see it at 
http://download.cnet.com/Microsoft-Data-Access-Components-MDAC-2-7-Service-Pack-

so I could bring it back if needed.

r463 brings it back, using cnet's download page.

It'd still be nice to know whether mdac28 suffices, though.

I can't explain why it does not work without it. 
I will try again with a clean wine install and see if I can detect the root of 
the issue. I also thought it should have worked without it.

Well, it works with mdac27. I am guessing the stupid program was written on it, 
but isn't the builds of this incremental?
I am going to try to do some deeper debugging and will keep you posted on this, 
as I agree with you we should only need one at this point.

No, now that mdac27 is back, it's not worth the effort :-)
Let's put off the why-doesn't-it-work-with-mdac28 until mdac27 goes away again,
hopefully never.

I agree with you. But is one of those things to follow up on. Will keep you 
posted on my findings as I go along at work with it.
