Unable to find a volume for file extraction #214

Hi everybody!
I am having a very annoying problem that I can't solve. Any help would be
really appreciated.

I try to execute winetricks vcrun 2010
when: "Executing wine vcredist_x86.exe" i get the error message: "Unable to
find a volume for file extraction"

It seems the problem that the folder where to extract vcredist_x86 is not
specified in my wine settings.

If i go to ./cache/winetricks/vcrun2010 and i type
wine vcredist_x86.exe /extract
it makes me choose the directory for extracted files and it works fine.
Where do I have to change my settings in order to run correctly winetricks
vcrun2010?

Any help would be really appreciated.
Forgot to say it...but i guess it's pretty clear....i'm a real beginner in this
matter

I'm running it locally on the cluster of computer at my university campus. With
locally I mean logging in locally on the computer. The cluster is running
Ubuntu 11.10
If you need any more info, let me know i ll retrieve them

This sounds like an old wine bug that's been fixed for a while. Can you retest
this in current wine (1.6-rc4 or newer) and winetricks?

I am also having this problem. Unfortunately I am locked into wine 1.4 because
of corporate policy.

Any suggestions would be appreciated..

Are you by any chance keeping the files in an NFS directory? That's what caused
this issue for me.
