dotnetfx40 success installation #217

If Windows version is "Windows XP", "winetricks dotnetfx40" doesn't work.
If Windows version is "Windows 7", "winetricks dotnetfx40" works just fine.
Why wouldn't you add Windows version change to this verb to winetricks?

And then it needs to rename "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET 
Framework Setup\NDP\v4" key folder to 
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4.0"

"winetricks dotnet40" works here with wine-1.5.7 and up on a blank .wine 
directory,
modulo one misplaced file (

Otherwise the dotnet install verifier thinks everything's fine.  Why do you
think the registry key needs changing?

When dotnetfx40 installed, I tried to install xna framework 3. Without "v4.0" 
registry key it said than there wasn't dotnetfx40 installed.

Please file a wine bug for that.

Also, does 'rm -rf .wine; winetricks dotnet40' fail?  If so, what version of 
wine are you using?  It works here with wine-1.5.8, I think.
