Use only image limits and not GP #247

I've noticed that when I'm over the 5000 image limit, the downloader would fall back to using my GP instead of stopping all downloads and giving me a warning that I've used up my limits (I was at 12000/5000 at one time). Not sure if this is intended or I accidentally changed a setting somewhere.

  • Using the "Download source image" function will now consume GP during peak hours. "Peak hours" for this purpose is (in UTC) weekdays between 14:00 and 20:00, and weekends between Saturday 14:00 until Sunday 20:00. This will also be used outside of peak hours if the image viewing limit is exhausted.

The GP cost is the same as what it would be for resetting the image limit, and also the same as the archiver cost for including it in an archive for a donator.

For database health reasons, this function will consume 1000 GP at a time, adding a "hidden" full image quota which is drawn from until it is exhausted.

I'm aware of this, I was hoping there would a be a way to automatically stop all downloads when I hit the 5k limit so I can do the 'ol IP trick.

It should, until this updates. Unless you've used up all your GPs and credits, then for now the script cannot detect it directly.

Though it may works by checking image limit usages with a timer, I still doubt is it useful, since unless it's not in peak time and you're downloading a relatively new gallery, you're always consumed by GP.

v1.35.1 is released, now it'll warn you when you've used up your limits, or your limits + estimated cost will exceed your all quota when you start downloading.
