Can't export m4a or 48kHz .wav file on macs #81

Hi there,
So, I've got code and miniAudicle plays it appropriately and I can hear it through my system, which is set at 48k (miniAudicle is, as well). When I go to export the code as an .m4a file, a dialog pops up...thinking...then disappears - no .m4a file is created, though. I tried exporting as a .wav file, with some success - what's weird with this, though, is that the .wav file has a sample rate of 44.1k. I haven't been able to find any similar issues online to help with troubleshooting. Thoughts/suggestions?
