There are two kinds of licenses I might want to consider

  1. A license for this template that I created (focused on code and configuration files).
  2. A license that a lab group could adopt that would apply to the content they create using this template.

I think the first license would stay with the template and not become part of the book once edited by a lab group. For 2, it might just be a list of suggested compatible licenses that the lab group can pick from??

Or maybe I'm overthinking this?

Maybe just use cc-by for this repo and then lab groups that adopt this template would also have to use cc-by (I think?) and credit me/cct somewhere?
