Alyssa contacted us for help dealing with rgdal retirement as it was listed as a dependency of rnpn. Turns out that was a super easy fix (https://github.com/usa-npn/rnpn/pull/31). Met on June 30 and discussed this PR as well as other "to-do" list items.

Turns out rnpn was initially an rOpenSci package even though it didn't meet rOpenSci standards (developed after the rnpn package). It was moved out of rOpenSci, but Alyssa would like to get it back on rOpenSci as an incubator project, doing some modernizations of the code along the way. UPDATE: Alyssa is leaving UA for a new job, and handing over maintainance of rnpn to Jeff Switzer who is still interested in doing an incubator with us

Jeff is busy with a new website rollout through October. Check back in with him early November.
