That is a beautiful logo and it has the "motif" of a Fulcrum subtly embedded within it. I really appreciate the free work here. I'll think about it. Picking a logo is a big deal. I realize I have no logo currently (except for that 1 image in the README). Thank you. I'll see if I actually go with this.. I have to think about it more and cannot answer in either the affirmative or negative just yet.

I thank you again! 👍

cculianu commented 4 years ago

Ok, I thought about it. My initial gut reaction (which is subjective but also important as logos are about quick reactions):

  1. It's pointing down. I want to point up in all things! Onward! Upward!
  2. The checkered triangle patten inside the larger triangle looks like the "Radiation Hazard" symbol to me. In fact when I first saw the logo that's what I instantly thought of. I am not sure I want that association made in anybody's mind....
  3. Whatever logo I choose I would like the "fulcrum motif" to be more strongly represented.. perhaps a triangle with a plank on at its tip, etc..
cculianu commented 4 years ago

I may just pay a designer to design one at some point... so -- don't stress out over this. Thanks so much for your willingness to help though!!

Real-FEELS commented 4 years ago

Thanks for the critique, If I may counter your valid points

  1. My perspective was that more information would be received.
  2. The negative space inside the triangles also show the flow going up. ;)

At least going forward you now have a better idea of what you want.

Thanks for the critique, If I may counter your valid points

  1. My perspective was that more information would be received.

Ah!

  1. The negative space inside the triangles also show the flow going up. ;)

Fair enough. Yeah it's all subjective. I guess this is like that gold & black dress or "yanni versus laura" thing. Some people's brains latch on to thing X, others Y...

At least going forward you now have a better idea of what you want.

Aww man. That warms the cockles of my heart. :)

As for the new logos -- very cool. I'm partial to the one with the red at the base.. I'll get back to you -- I have some coding to do and my mind needs to think about code. Thanks so much for the (free) contribution! 🗡️
