Insurance Data #40

Can someone explore and see what's in it, and what we could possibly do with it?

Hi Rich, the data is pretty clean, there are 4 files: homeowners, farm owners, earthquake and mobile homes. There's information on exposures (# of accounts) and premiums. All the measures are split by owners and renters. So there are 4 x 2 x 2 = 16 indicators here. The files are at the zipcode level.

I'm thinking the insurance data gets into scope creep. Great to know for CCUSA, but until we get more than one state we can't add this data nationwide (we would not be able to provide that any imputation or machine learning models can effectively be extrapolated from this data).

Would be a great topic for a data jam, but we should wait to do anything with it for this map until we have something more comprehensive. Closing for now, but we can reopen if appropriate.
