A2DP Bluetooth headphones do not work during call #277

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Pair A2DP headphones, verify that they are working in audio apps like
Pandora and for cellular calls.
2. Attempt to place or receive a call with Siphon

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Call audio is only heard through the iPhone's earpiece (or speaker, if I
select it on the call screen). Siphon's FAQ suggests that calling functions
should work with A2DP, but it is only tested with one Jabra model -- can
this be confirmed as tested for 2.0.8 and OS 3.0, or have others had
success with other models?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Siphon 2.0.8, 3GS with OS 3.0. My A2DP headphones are Motorola S805, which
work fine for audio apps and cellular calling.

Please provide any additional information below.

I do hear DTMF tones in the headphones when dialing a call, but once sent
call audio is only through the phone -- it seems like Siphon is trying up
to a point.

It seems there are problem on iPhone OS (look issue 30)
In fact you hear DTMF tones because Siphon uses two API:
  * alarm for dtmf
  * audio for voice

My Motorola S9 also works fine with audio apps and I hear DTMF and no audio in
Siphon. The S9 works fine with Softphone (but Softphone sound is absolutely
horrible !)

(Siphon 2.1.0 and OS 3.1)

I uploaded new release candidate version with bluetooth support, but the
quality is
not very good. I don't know if it's an Apple's issue or not.

Yeah, I've tried it and unfortunately it's unusable; the person on the other
end of the call can't understand what
I'm saying.
