What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I am only using wifi.. and when i switch off wifi and starts Siphon, it
gets started and saying no service available (my SIP provider service which
is ata.nymgo.com) also keypad is active. when i switch on wifi application
freezes and quits automatically.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

OS 3.1.2, siphon ver: 2.1.0, SIP provider: ata.nymgo.com

Please provide any additional information below.

I installed latest version of Siphon from Cydia yesterday. it worked
perfectly.... But today when i again tried to make call using siphon,
application launched and freezes immediately and after some time
automatically it quits.

Catch: I am only using wifi.. and when i switch off wifi and starts Siphon,
it gets started and saying no service available (my SIP provider service
which is ata.nymgo.com) also keypad is active. when i switch on wifi
application freezes and quits automatically.

I used fring to check if my SIP provider is avaiable and found that was
perfectly working...

I remember, i updated mobilesubstrate from cydia. not sure if this has
created this problem. i tried uninstalling mobilesubstrate and siphon and
again installed siphon but no luck

yup it works... butttt... ata.nymgo.com is taking very long to get connected.
with
fring, nymgo got registered quickly but with Siphon it is taking time.

Previous version of Siphon (2.1) was also able to connect to nymgo very
quickly..
please have a look into it.

I don't think the connection speed comes from Siphon, but from iphone.
Fring doesn't work like Siphon. With Fring your connection crosses over Fring
server.

I believe the problem comes your network configuration and iPhone tries several
times
before to find address.
If you know your dns server, you can define it in siphon settings (network
settings
of Siphon)

I started Siphon RC3 and it took 30 to 40 seconds to finally show the status as
connected. I used backgrounder to run this application in background, went to
Settings and switched off Wifi. At this time siphon immediately turns the
status to
Bad Gateway. I switched on wifi and found Siphon immediately turned the status
as
connected without taking again 30 - 40 seconds.

Outcome: On starting a new session of siphon RC3, it is taking a long time
whereas
already running session is able to connect immediately.

Previous version of siphon on same phone with same OS didn't show this type of
behavior.

Thanks for the above link :-). I am continuously following George Hotz and even
unlocked my Iphone using Blackra1n\blacksn0w. My very first installation of
Siphone
was after unlocking with blacksn0w where siphon worked perfectly but after
updating
mobile substrate(not sure if it caused siphon to freeze)from cydia, all problems
started. i installed RC3 of Siphon and that worked but now with delay in first
session.

Earlier it was so quick that i was about to remove fring from my iphone.

I personally feel if we can log the Siphon activity somewhere in order to see
the
root cause of this delay on start up that would be very helpful. Its just a
suggestion

The problem doesn't come from Siphon.
The problem comes from get gethostip function.
Look here (link in G. Hotz's article)

I am not sure if Safari Browser/ Nimbuzz / Fring / Google Apps etc depends on
gethostip function. All these applications run very well.

Siphon is also working but only thing hurts is when it is taking very long time
at
application startup.

The link provided above discusses the issues where Iphone unable to detect Wifi
but
in my case wifi is very well available, all other applications run very well
over wifi.
