eclipse Neon (4.6) problem openning REPL

In eclipse 4.6 (Neon) when tying to open REPL (Ctrl-Alt-S while in a clojure file) I am getting:

working on it ... the resolution is a little bit harder than expected ... needs to migrate to Java 8 ; facing some removed APIs in Eclipse ; etc.
