Animals choose a potential HR center and try to return to it. On their way they
encounter a boundary that is nearly impermiable and keep bouncing off it with
tiny steps (e.g. <0.01%) which means it can take a month or more (real time) to
finish 1 timestep for that animal.
In the least this should be captured in the documentation.
I suspect this will require an overhaul of the homing algorithm to fix.
