Social map filename issue #89

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
*Low priority*
When multiple social map shape files of similar names exist in the same folder,
SEARCH may use the wrong file (I haven't tested this for food maps, predation
maps, etc.).

To reproduce this issue I run the base_parameters.xml with install maps. In
addition to the standard input called base_social.shp, I produce another shape
file in the same folder called base_social_Nosuit.shp - this file has no
suitable habitat anywhere. In the xml, if I designate the use of
base_social.shp, SEARCH actually uses base_social_Nosuit.shp, as evidenced by
none of the animals establishing home ranges.

This is a low priority issue but could result in problems for people copying
social maps and renaming them in the same folder.

I attached the inputs to be used that can reproduce the issue.

Cheers,
Casey

Good morning Casey

Wow that is the first time I can recall that ever happening. I always have
multiple maps in the directory. Good catch, let me see what I can come up with.

cheers

bob
