Connectivity of the BC337 in the transponder #2

Hi, Thank you for the efforts put in this nice project.

question about the connectivity of the BC337 transistor in the transponder. Is it true that the “emitter” of BC337 is connected to the “IR Emitter” and the “collector” of BC337 is connected to “ground”? Sort of common collector setup?
