Travis is pretty much dead

to do:

[x] fix tests (not sure why pep8 fails 🤷 )
[ ] ensure that matrix configuration works as expected
[x] remove this branch from configuration (l. 6)
[x] update README badge
[ ] IRC notifications (see marketplace 🤷 )
