@zestyroxy @bajpaigarima

Hi Roxanne,

Here is the final Survey and the introduction to the survey, that I have included at the start of the survey (start of the Google Form)

The survey will run for 6 weeks and is intended to be socialized to everyone in the Continuous Delivery world - Students, beginners, learners, practitioners, leaders and advocates of the CI/CD.

Let me know if you need anything else, I'll be happy to provide the information.

Thanks, Chitrita

Is this survey still ongoing?

roxannejoncas commented 2 years ago

@FeynmanZhou @chitritachakravarti I was out sick for three weeks and did not get a chance to post this. cdCon is next week and that's my priority until then. What about launching it on June 14?

I was out sick for three weeks

Sure, take care of yourself @zestyroxy .

chitritachakravarti commented 2 years ago

Hi Roxanne, Good to hear you are back. Hope you are feeling better. June 14 sounds good. Also just so you know, I am working this week with the ambassador to frame our next survey, should have the comms ready for you in the next couple weeks.

@FeynmanZhou https://github.com/FeynmanZhou , this survey is already closed but I will include you in the next one which I will kick off this week.

Thanks, Chitrita

Thank you @chitritachakravarti.

Our new general manager @fdegir will meet with @bajpaigarima next week.

I'll wait for their consensus on how to move forward with everything. :)

roxannejoncas commented 2 years ago

@chitritachakravarti can you add all the latest links to everything here. Thank you

Here is the final Survey and the introduction to the survey, that we have included at the start of the survey (start of the Google Form)

mukteshkrmishra commented 2 years ago

@bajpaigarima : One feedback, for question 1(free form text box), can we draft it in a way where we get more insights for the people filling out surveys. For eg. role, familiarity with open source, area of work etc. (in a templated format). For e.g. Area of work can be infrastructure engineer, release engineer, or DevOps practitioner along with an "other option" ? This will help us in categorizing data in a schema-driven format (otherwise free format can get tricky to understand using demography and background since will require reading and parse info manually)

bajpaigarima commented 2 years ago

@mukteshkrmishra can you update the question and review it with @chitritachakravarti @oleg-nenashev @cdfoundation/outreach any feedback , @fdegir - for FYI

oleg-nenashev commented 2 years ago

Duplicating my feedback from Slack

First of all, I do not see any questions asking about perception of the CDF in the ecosystem, its highlights and opportunities for improvement. I believe it would be helpful for @fdegir

"Which Open Source Software(s)/Project(s) (OSS) are most consistently being used in your organizations over the past 2 years?"

Which CI/CD Open Source Software(s)/Project(s) in your view, has seen the highest rate of adoption in the last year?

What are the top CI/CD Open source project(s) that you would consider for community contribution?

What kind of Licensing model on CI/CD Open Source Software(s)/Project(s), tools & technologies, are most widely used?

Not sure what is the point of asking this question. GitHub and Gitlab stats are at your service

What are the Open source technologies that are driving adoption and usage of CI/CD Open Source Software(s)/Project(s)?

There is is single select while the question implies multiple possible answers

Which industry practices are most open to using CI/CD Open Source Software(s)/Project(s), tools & technologies?

The question is not consistent with the answer. You ask about industry practices but listing industries

chitritachakravarti commented 2 years ago

Thanks @oleg-nenashev for the feedback. I will work through these feedbacks and have the survey updated. @zestyroxy , I should keep you informed, when the edits are done.

mukteshkrmishra commented 2 years ago

@chitritachakravarti : Do you want me to review once the updates are done ? (w.r.t. feedback provided above)

chitritachakravarti commented 2 years ago

@mukteshkrmishra, pls. hold on from reviewing it at the moment. Looking through some of Oleg's comments is giving us a better sense of the direction of the survey. Let me first make the edits to make it more purpose align towards CDF. Once i am done with the re-alignment, you will have a better view for commentary.

bajpaigarima commented 2 years ago

@chitritachakravarti do we have the final version after the updates suggested by the team
