User config: Add setting for default persistence store #113

Closed cdjackson closed 10 years ago

cdjackson commented 10 years ago

Only restart the app if the language changes.

cdjackson commented 10 years ago

@lblabr I've now added a default persistence store option to the user config (the button in the top right corner of the GUI). Please let me know if it works ok for you...

lblabr commented 10 years ago

what is your way updating habmin on openhab system ?

cdjackson commented 10 years ago

For the development builds, just take the files from github and copy them into the relevant webapps/habmin folder.

it should also be possible to have an github checkout of the webapps folder so i just can do an update ? Possibly - you’ve have to get the right folders I guess this ought to work.

how can i see in habmin which persitence service is used ? i choose one It should display in the bottom right corner. It might be that after selecting in the top right (i.e. the new configuration I’ve just added) that the indicator in the bottom corner doesn’t update - I’ll check this.

if you like you may have a look:

openhab.seume70.efficient-energies.de/greent openhab.seume70.efficient-energies.de/habmin The second link doesn’t work - HABmin comes up, but it stays on the splash screen

lblabr commented 10 years ago

habmin runs on port 8080 or does habmin needs some other ports ?

lblabr commented 10 years ago

it just need a while ... due the bad internet connection ;-)

cdjackson commented 10 years ago

habmin runs on port 8080 or does habmin needs some other ports ? It uses the standard openHAB port since it’s using the openHAB jetty server.

lblabr commented 10 years ago

it needs some time to load, i tested with umts ...

Are we still looking at a HABmin graphing issue (since we’re discussing this in the HABmin board), or is this now an issue with the chart widget render in openHAB?

This loads - I go to Garten (??) and see the graphs, but I don’t see the picture ‘switching’ you mention. I assume this is classic ui problem not habmin?

By picture switching, do you mean that it updates quite often? I have seen this with the classic UI in the past (e.g. it updates every few seconds maybe) - I haven’t looked into why this is though...

But the settings in HABmin are not connected in any way to the settings in the classicUI or GreenT - these are separately configured. GreenT and ClassicUI are configured through the Sitemap setting, and HABmin is configured using the button on the graph screen (and the new default provider in user settings).

cdjackson commented 10 years ago
  • greent works on rrd4j data GreenT should use the provider that is set in the sitemap configuration, but mate sure you have a VERY recent version of GreenT (i.e. in the past week or so) since I updated something that makes this work only in the last 1 or 2 weeks.
  • habmin does not show rrd4j data if i have db4o data ? HABmin will use whatever persistence store is selected in the bottom right corner of the graph. It can use either one, but not both at the same time.
lblabr commented 10 years ago

i know....

but the datastore is the same...

as you may see (db4o / rrd4j) there is an item: "Garten - Temperatur (9)" wth persitence service for db4o and rrd4j

in habmin i do not get an chart/data table if i switch to rrd4j

Please explain what doesn’t work. Does everything look ok in the GUI, (i.e. the names of the service etc updates) but the chart doesn’t display or what.

From my tests here, it seems ok - I can use both data sources. When you change data source, does the list of channels change in the channel list (or maybe you have them both configured the same way so they don’t change?).

Ok - so I tried this on your system, and the request all looks fine, but openHAB says there are 0 data points returned.

If I do the same with db4o I get 270 points returned-: Request -: http://openhab.seume70.efficient-energies.de/services/habmin/persistence/services/db4o/WS444_Sensor9_temperature

Your config looks ok I think, but one comment - in your sitemap you don’t have graphs for the temperature sensor you asked me to graph with both rrd and db4o. If I instead choose ‘Regensensor (1h)’ it works for both db4o and rrd in your system (although they have different data, but both are returning data points). Maybe you can set the temperature sensor up to make sure that really is working correctly in rrd?

cdjackson commented 10 years ago

how i should do ?, i think configuration is ok....

gWS444PC* : strategy = everyMinute, everyChange, everyUpdate WS444_Sensor9_temperature : strategy = everyChange, everyUpdate

should i remove WS444_Sensor9_temperature rrd4j.persist, because is also in gWS444PC does has habmin problems with that ? that coudl be the reason why ist working with maybe classic ui... it can cope with it, does not know about ...

how i should do ?, i think configuration is ok….

In your sitemap -: Frame label="Charts" { Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_temperature service="db4o" period=D label="Außentemperatur [%.2f °C]" icon="climate" Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_rain_sensor service="db4o" period=D Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_rain_sensor service="rrd4j" period=D Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_rain_1h service="db4o" period=D Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_rain_1h service="rrd4j" period=D Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_rain_1d service="db4o" period=D Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_rain_1d service="rrd4j" period=D Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_wind_speed service="db4o" period=D }

You do not have a channel for rrd and Sensor9 temperature, so you can’t be sure both are working. Can you add the following line -: Chart item=WS444_Sensor9_temperature service=“rrd4j" period=D label="Außentemperatur (RRD) [%.2f °C]" icon="climate"

should i remove WS444_Sensor9_temperature rrd4j.persist, because is also in gWS444PC does has habmin problems with that ? that coudl be the reason why ist working with maybe classic ui... it can cope with it, does not know about …

No - it shouldn’t matter. HABmin doesn’t read these files directly, it uses the model functions in OH.

both are returning data points). Maybe you can set the temperature sensor up to make sure that really is working correctly in rrd?

You are saying that HABmin isn’t showing the data for this temperature channel, but the classic UI sitemap IS showing the data. However, in your sitemap, you DO NOT have this channel charting using the rrd store so you can’t actually be sure that this is working (unless of course you are using a different sitemap that’s not the one you sent me?).

Currently, HABmin appears to be graphing the data that it is being sent by OH - it looks fine. I want to make sure that there really is data in OH for this channel, since it doesn’t look like there is. If you can update the sitemap as per my last message it would help to check this.

great job ! there is nothing in garten - temperatur rrd4j ...... mhh

and why ??? the others are stored and sensor (9) not ??? maybe fo that reason i had the extra line, so the group - thing is the problem...
