Trying to answer:

What's our ratio of people giving permission to contacts vs not? If it is 50%, we need to improve this, if it is 90%, maybe we are okay.

Possible ways to track:

How many downloads vs how many first time address book syncs?
How many times address book attempts to sync but fails because of lack of permissions?
when we change how permissions are requested to be user-initiated, we can track their decision and that event.

Here is how we will do it for now:

unique installation ids for address book sync events compared with unique installation ids for mainscreenview events within a 1 week window.
