Because, I would like an other new option (in the configuration file) in order to enable the sign up on a specific instance of pyAggr3g470r without email address. Some users want to provide the least information possible. Just a nickname.

9 years ago I was thinking as removing the user.email alltogether and making the login uneditable. What do you think ?

Editing a user email will lead to a lot of errors due to the fact that the UI try to reload the user by the old email. Either a fix is made either we prevent users from editing their email.
