Punters aren't at all clear what do do with this. There are two issues:
They can't tell if/when it's recording
and
It's possible the instructions might be too vague?
To fix 1: Add a progress bar that maps out the level meter amplitude over a set range.
To fix 2: This may or may not actually be a problem, but the solution would be to include some text about how Pauline Oliveros used to ask students to listen and keep journals about what they hear. This could be in a separate screen that they either reach via new keystroke, or it could be part of the text sequence. IMO, it should not be a printed programme note, but built in to the UI.
