Consider support for ics-027-interchain-accounts #1533

Summary

Celestia chain integrate ics-027-interchain-accounts

Problem Definition

At present, I see that Celestia has integrated IBC Transfer. I think if ics-027-interchain-accounts is supported, then there will be many interesting cross-chain appchains in the ecology. We are currently developing a restaking appchain celinium on the Cosmos SDK. If Celestia chain integrates ics-027-interchain-accounts, then we will be able to do restaking based on TIA.

Proposal

This only needs to integrate ics-027-interchain-accounts in the celestia chain.

thanks for bringing this up @byterui. we're considering this and other approaches atm, but we will likely not include these changes until the first upgrade, so after mainnet launch :slightly_smiling_face:

this should give us more time to evaluate all possible solutions, and for the various approaches to mature.

Is it possible to apply either IS-27 or other solutions independently on Testnet before the mainnet launch?

this should give us more time to evaluate all possible solutions, and for the various approaches to mature.

we likely will not begin to push things like this to testnet before mainnet, but we definitely will when we begin to think about these. I'm not sure if there is an open discussion atm, but definitely feel free to start one in this repo https://github.com/celestiaorg/celestia-app/discussions

we might host discussions around features elsewhere in the future, such as CIPs or community calls, but I think that's as good as place as any for now. I'd be curious to hear more on the objective and subjective differences between the various solutions.
