(WOTLK) Constantly crashing after update #118

Hey, really love the server and I've been playing on the WOTLK expansion for hundreds of hours already, but it sadly seems to have become quite unplayable for me after the latest update. The mangosd.exe process usually crashes around 5-10 minutes after the server is started. This is on a fresh WOTLK install with only a few settings modified (bot quest sync enabled, resource regen set to x3, server rates/talent points set to x2), and I am playing with one alt/playerbot in my party.

The same crash happens whether the randombot count is set to 200, 1000, or 2000, and happens with both the release and beta versions. It crashes whether I myself am logged in to the server or not, but it seems to crash more frequently while I'm actually playing.

There are no crash logs in the Bin64 folder. The only error message I can see is that the database says :

2023-01-22T21:30:24.987268Z 6 [Note] Aborted connection 6 to db: 'wotlkmangos' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.988243Z 14 [Note] Aborted connection 14 to db: 'wotlklogs' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.987772Z 9 [Note] Aborted connection 9 to db: 'wotlkcharacters' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.987854Z 10 [Note] Aborted connection 10 to db: 'wotlkplayerbots' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.987927Z 8 [Note] Aborted connection 8 to db: 'wotlkcharacters' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.987996Z 11 [Note] Aborted connection 11 to db: 'wotlkplayerbots' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.988104Z 12 [Note] Aborted connection 12 to db: 'wotlkrealmd' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.988149Z 13 [Note] Aborted connection 13 to db: 'wotlkrealmd' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.987760Z 7 [Note] Aborted connection 7 to db: 'wotlkmangos' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets) 2023-01-22T21:30:24.988319Z 15 [Note] Aborted connection 15 to db: 'wotlklogs' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets)

Is this a known issue or am I just really unlucky? The previous update was quite stable for me with 2000 bots, but now I cannot get past Northshire without crashing anymore and the rollback that occurs afterwards erases any progress I have made.

Here are the rest of my logs in case it might be helpful: https://www.mediafire.com/file/7tsxrrrob3wkw9j/logs.rar/file

Edit: I saw another post with a similar issue and tried setting the numbers in the .spp files to a lower version then letting the launcher update them again, but that unfortunately doesn't stop the crashes either. It does delay them from 5-10 min to around 30 min, with 2k bots active.

Edit 2: Everything is fine if randombots are disabled, so they are most likely the reason for the crash. Hope this can be fixed somehow! I'll just play without them for the moment.

Just to help out a bit more, if I set the following values in aiplayerbot.conf:

AiPlayerbot.RandomBotUpdateInterval = 7 AiPlayerbot.RandomBotsPerInterval = 150

And then use the restarter mode, the mangosd.exe process will repeatedly close and restart every 5 min or so.

Just wanted to say that I'm no longer getting any crashes, using the 2023-01-25 beta. Server has been running fine for 2 hours with 2500 bots active and it's just been really stable overall with no issues. Thank you celguar and team!
