Vanilla AH and Player Bots not working at all? #159

Anyone have the secret on making the bots work? I've run this out of the box without any modifications to the conf files and the bots won't show. Both the TBC and WotLK modules work fine, but I cannot get the bots to work in Vanilla. I've deleted and rerun the exe starting from scratch several times with the exact same results. I originally wanted to specifically run a Vanilla realm, so any help would be appreciated. These are the messages I get in the logs:

Initializing AhBot by ike3 AhBot is Disabled. Unable to open configuration file ahbot.conf Initializing AI Playerbot by ike3, based on the original Playerbot by blueboy AI Playerbot is Disabled. Unable to open configuration file aiplayerbot.conf

I found some people having similar issues in years past, but their solutions aren't applicable or don't work. I'm using Windows 10 Pro on an i5 with 8GB DDR3 and SSD. Similar issues: 1 | 2

Update: I fully reinstalled SPP into a new root directory and got both the playerbots and ahbot working in Vanilla for several days. Came home this afternoon and the server had crashed, running a repeating message about the sql couldn't be found. Stopped and restarted the server and now the aibots are gone again, the ahbot still working. This is running on an Intel i5 quad-core with 8GB DDR3 and SSD. I was running a modest 250 bots and it was working perfectly until today's crash. This server is very stable with all other games that I've run 24/7 for years. Interested if anyone has ideas on how to make the bots stick.

@mako666 could you tell me what advantages there are for switching? I have everything running well now, but I could see going to Beta upon your recommendation if it's worth it. Thanks commenting in my thread! <3

@sarge816 Hello. Beta version is latest mangos exe, with latest bot fixes, tweaks. Repack's current version is 2.3.6 from 12.07.23. If you have this version you can try beta build, option to switch is in the launcher. It will download latest mangosd.exe that is built daily on github, and replace your current .exe file. You can switch back later if beta build doesn't run well for you.

Switching to beta build is not necessary, especially if everything works ok for you. But if you want to try latest tweaks, you can try Here's changelog for bots from latest repack release till today https://github.com/celguar/mangosbot-bots/compare/r-2023-07-12...r-2023-08-16

If you need anything from that changelog, you can try switch to current build. If no, you can just stay on release version
