local calibre library does not show any content #405

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.enter address of local calibre library e.g. caliber library and
HTTP://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080
2.tap on calibre Link just created
3.

What is the expected output?
Opening of calibre, access to books

What do you see instead?
Page opens and does not show the book links
Nb, it works with e.g. moon reader with same settings. I have tried with
standard eBook droid version from Google play, and this gives the same
response. I have tried with and without authentication box ticked, and even
tried setting a username w/o password on the server. I tried with username
empty, calibre, nothing could give me access to the books.

What version of the product are you using?

EBook droid 1.63 dev

Ubuntu 12.04 with Calibre 0.838, no username or password defined As server
Nexus 10, android 4.2.1 as eBook reader with ebookdroid

Please provide any additional information below.
You have made a great software! Cudos to you!

Did you see anything? folders/categories? Try to turn off "Hide unsupported
formats" in OPDS browser settings.

What content types are you using in your calibre library?

Thank you for looking into this

I have tried the opdf setting, this did not help.

The first library page is where you pick how to view the books. Is series
author, title etc. It just shows the library name on top and the controls. I
have attached some screenshots. Please let me know if I can do more to help pin
this down.

Screenshot 13: opdf settings (I also tried with all options on)
Screenshot 9: this is what I see after opening library in ebookdroid , there is
no error

Screenshot 2, 3 and 7 are using moon reader.

File types:PDF, djvu, cbr, mobi, epub (there may be more formats). I have a lot
of books and musical scores in the library 10000+. I download them using moon
reader, which points non recognized files to the browser, and then I pick them
up from downloads folder in eBook droid. Reading experience is very good in
your program :-)

Does pre-installed OPDS feeds works for you?

Is it possible to you to share URL of your library so we can debug the OPDS
connection? You can send details to our email.

Settings on first screenshot is correct to show all available books in the
library.

Calibre provides OPDS feeds with HTTP://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/opds URL.
On HTTP://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/ it provides only HTML frontend to the library.
We add workaround, but we cannot guarantee that it will work with other Calibre
versions than 0.8.38.
