BotW: high GPU load in buy/sell menus #380

Open jn64 opened 2 years ago

jn64 commented 2 years ago

Cemu version: f0938e1, ..., 6f985c3 OS: Fedora 36 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Driver version: 515.76, 520.56.06 Game: Breath of the Wild (EU, v208 / 1.5.0)

log.txt

Description

In BotW, there is abnormally high GPU load (+100% or more over average) in buy/sell menus.

Screenshots

I'm using gamescope to upscale so the reported resolution doesn't match the image size. Has no effect on the issue.

(1) Normal GPU load (~35%): 1-normal

(2) High load in shop menus (~75%): 2-shop

(3) For comparison, lower load in inventory (~15%): 3-inventory

Higher effect at 1600×900

(4) Normal load (~40%): 4-900p-normal

(5) Shop menus (~95%): 5-900p-shop

It increases GPU usage by 10% on Windows 10 with my RX 6950 XT, so I cannot imagine what kind of performance hit you getting with a low end GPU.

For me it doesn't affect whasoever, since GPU usage is always below 60%, but there is a clear jump in resource usage on the store page.

Same here, Fedora 36 and GTX 1050 ti. But in my case the FPS drops from ~30 to ~14fps.

Same experience Windows 10 19044 Cemu 2.08 and 2.07 GPU: GTX 1650 4GB GPU Driver: 522.25(Latest as of this post)

Going back to Cemu 1.26.2f solved the issue.

Same issue here, Windows 10, GTX 1070 with drivers 522.25.

I was able to reproduce the issue. GPU frequency scaling was intentionally disabled for this test

I don't know if this is out of the ordinary though.

I found that in all similar cases, the background is still active. Maybe this issue is caused by the low efficiency of blurring the background frame.

It could be something like that. This might be something that some tinkering with graphics packs can fix.

AlphonseZetta10 commented 2 years ago

same experience too and if i use the same graphic pack in cemu 1.26.2,no framrate dropping appears, everything will work fine

dagstuan commented 1 year ago

Chiming in with the same issue, I get around 20fps with an open vendor screen with the blur effect, much higher FPS otherwise. This is with an M1 Max mac and the newest 2.0-x builds.

Serfrost commented 1 year ago

Also have this problem.

Drops from 100-110 down to 50-55 after opening a shop.

georgerusu017 commented 1 year ago

I can confirm that on M1 Pro it's the same problem. Fps drops to less than 15.

Nerowaiss commented 1 year ago

The problem still persists in more recent versions so I tried it in version 1.27.1 and everything works fine, something changed from this version to 2.0, I recommend using 1.27.1 that way you don't have to install the updates and dlcs

Cemu 2.0-28 Same issue
