[Breath of the Wild] v834 FPS++ breaks dragon animations #544

Open bbeamz opened 2 years ago

bbeamz commented 2 years ago

Describe the issue After trial-and-error to determine which version broke this, after upgrading from BOTW graphics pack v833 --> v834, enabling FPS++ causes Dragon pathing animations (tested Farosh and Dinrahl) to be between 1/3 - 1/4 normal speed. This also causes them to distort in strange ways after you shoot them and their "escape to the sky" animation triggers.

This was tested for:

Cemu version:

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install BOTW graphics pack v834 or later
  2. Enable FPS++ for 60, 120, or 144 fps (target or fixed/static does not seem to matter)
  3. Go to either Farosh or Dinrahl dragon spawn locations
  4. You will notice that they path extremely slowly
  5. shoot the dragon; observe they glitch/distort as they ascend into the sky

Expected behavior Dragons should path at normal 30fps speed (and same speed prior to v833). Their sky ascent animation should also not be glitched/distored

Screenshots N/A. Can provide if unable to reproduce locally.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

Additional context Was able to verify by manually downloading previously releases, that graphics packs v833 and earlier do not cause this issue for BOTW.

Further validation:

Was able to install the latest graphics pack available for BOTW (v841) but replace the FPS++ directory with the v833 version, and the issue with Farosh and Dinrahl dragons pathing animation was fixed with FPS++ enabled.

This seems isolated specifically to the versions of FPS++ bundled with graphics pack v834+

This remains an issue with Cemu 1.26.1 and latest graphics pack release.

@bbeamz this still exists?

bbeamz commented 1 year ago

@labib2002 Sorry for delay here, parted out the old PC awhile ago. However, I did recently do a new 7950X3D/4090 build, and can confirm that this is still occurring on a completely new system, and newer versions of CEMU + Graphics Packs.

I created a new Issue with far more detail (videos and screenshots) here: #595 , which links back to this original Issue for more historical context.
