Supported WHMCS / PHP versions & requirements

Not an issue, just an info req... I looked deeply into your documentation, but I found nothing about PHP version supported and PHP requirements (especially for CNR Registrar Module ) RRpproxy module required at least PHP 7.3 ... does the new module work with PHP 7.2 too?

We encrypt the whole software bundle for PHP 7.2 - 8.1 support. In case something isn't working under PHP 7.2 against my expectations, please let us know. We can patch things asap.

Dear Customers,

as we regularly receive questions if the latest or a specific version of WHMCS or PHP is supported:

• we are always supporting the latest version of WHMCS and PHP
• if not, we'll be listing specific excluded versions in here
• we are not longer developping for WHMCS 7.x as we can't continuously support such outdated versions. This would come with an overhead for development and testing plus dramatically increasing the run time of our CI pipelines. We focus prefer spending our time and love on adding requested features and patching bugs.
• if you want to continue with WHMCS 7, you can do so. Just be aware of that we recommend sticking to your module version in use. Otherwise, you risk breaking your system.
• we also stopped supporting PHP 7 as it reached EOL a while ago and this is the main reason for deprecating WHMCS 7 as it is not compatible with PHP 8.

So, we are supporting WHMCS 8 ('til latest version) and PHP 8 ('til latest version).

Just one note regarding PHP Version support: WHMCS is closed source and encrypted using ioncube encoder and needs the ioncube loader extension for PHP for decrypting it again. Supporting the last version of PHP is sometimes blocked by that software company and then by WHMCS. If both have added support for that version of PHP, then we can do that as well.
