Bonjour,

Hallo David, if you start working on this and prepare the patch, please base it on svn trunk as many things have changed and it would be hard to port it from 2.1...

Thank you for your contribution.

Bonjour,

I was planning to open a feature request but I see this one is still open. Sadly it has be opened since 2010 but not implemented yet AFAIK.

Are developers experiencing some technical difficulties to implement it ? RRD smartly provides the following consolidation functions : MIN, MAX & LAST (in addition to AVERAGE). Centreon could use them as it makes sense on many kind of data.

Still no progression on this issue?

We use the commercial version of Centreon (20.04 at the time I’m writing this message), we’re paying two licenses in order to get two platforms with all the functionalities (mainly plugin packs et auto-discovery for services) : one for integration (750 hosts) et one for production (3500 hosts). We also are satisfied with the support which is reactive and relatively skilled.

We have about 50 end-users which rely heavily on Centreon. Some of them are starting to point out that this problem is something which is very annoying and cleary not professional enough for a monitoring platform in 2021. I can’t argue with that, because it is true. They’re starting to look some other monitoring products very seriously and if I’m asked to drop Centreon for another product I’ll be sad but I’m not in position to refuse, nor my direct superior who introduce Centreon many years ago.

RRD is a very good software (even if there are newer promising TSDB and graphic rendering engines). It is well tested and used widely. It has MAX,MIN and LAST aggregation function from the beginning (or so). It is very disturbing that Centreon is still not using them nowadays.

I’d like to look at the code mysql. Can you at least point me to the part of the code I should look at first, and what are the problem your developers are facing to be unable to add the functionality?

There is very good « Nagios like » software solutions, like Thruk+Naemon. I can’t tell if it offers those kind of RRD aggregation functions, didn’t test that, but they’re interesting. I’d prefer to continue with Centreon, because of all we capitalized on it in our teams.

Can you raise the priority of this feature request? It is clearly a bug from the end-user view, functionally speaking.

Best regards.

Stéphane

Hi @StefThomas we have no plans to rewrite performance data storage anytime soon, but we are keeping this request in mind.
