Start and end dates of new downtimes defaults to the previous day #8266

OS: CentOS 7.7.1908 Type: VM, ESXi 6.5 Centreon Version: 19.10.4(see below for detailed list) Browsers used: Firefox 72.0.1 Chrome 79.0.3945.117 Microsoft Edge 40.15063.674.0 Type: Central with poller

After updating to Centreon 19.10.4 we have seen the initial dates populated for downtimes for start and end set to the previous day. ie, if I were to hit create downtime at 1330 on January 16th, the downtime dialog would pop up with a start date of January 15th and a start time of 1330. So right time wrong date. This occurs both when adding a downtime by checking the box next to a host or service in Status Details as well as "Add Downtimes" under the downtimes list.

Expected result: The start and end dates of a new downtime would default to today's date. This is what has happened in the past.

Prior to the update the behavior was as expected.

I gave it a try but it doesn't seem to have had any impact on this problem.

I stepped through localizedDatepicker.js in a debugger and found that it is getting this incorrect date when it sets the default. defaultDate = new Date(moment().tz(localStorage.getItem('realTimezone')).format("YYYY-MM-DD")); The timezone being retrieved from localStorage is correct.

I broke this out into components and stepped through it to see where things might be going wrong. The date created by m = moment().tz(localStorage.getItem('realTimezone')).format("YYYY-MM-DD"); is correct. For today it is 2017-01-17. defaultDate = new Date(m); This takes us back one day, "Thu Jan 16 2020 18:00:00 GMT-0600 (Central...". I imagine the time portion owes to the input only have the date portion. I'm just baffled as to why it is going back a day.

I remember having faced same sort of issue with users having non-enforced timezone. Be sure to enforce a Timezone / Location in your Configuration > Users > Contacts / Users > Centreon Authentication settings, and give a new try ?

Good thought since most users don't have this set. The timezone is set to my local timezone for my user. Still seeing the problem. :(

In looking at this, I think that anyone with a negative offset from GMT is going to have the same experience that I am. Those with 0 or positive offsets would not have any problems.

defaultDate = new Date(moment().tz(localStorage.getItem('realTimezone')).format("YYYY-MM-DD")); basically passes a string in the format 2020-01-23 to the JavaScript Date object constructor. That constructor seems to assume that it received a GMT timestamp and converts it to whatever your browser has for local time. If you are at +1 then the resulting timestamp is 2020-01-23 01:00:00. The time portion is thrown away so everything is good. If you are in, say, Edmonton, with an offset of -7, then you end up with 2020-01-22 17:00:00 which would result in 2020-01-22 appearing in the downtime datepicker init value like I am seeing.

A possible fix for the start date init value would be to change defaultDate = new Date(moment().tz(localStorage.getItem('realTimezone')).format("YYYY-MM-DD")); to defaultDate = new Date(moment().tz(localStorage.getItem('realTimezone')).format()); so that the string passed to the Date constructor does include the timezone.

This only fixes the start date, though. And it might break what has been done with regards to other issues with timezones. Not certain.

Am I totally off?
