You don't have to use the buttons. Swiping to change screens works. Pinching
the homescreen (like zooming out in the web browser) opens the home screen
previews and then you can jump to any screen with just a tap. Also, you can set
ADW to open the previews with a double tap of the home key.

I prefer having Swipe-up set to bring up previews. It seems a lot nicer than
sliding on Motoblur.

Assuming that something seems, and knowing for a fact are totally different.
You actually have to own a Droid X to know where I am coming from. Trust me,
Moto Blur is a lot quicker at switching Home Screens that ADW any day and you
don't have to hold down the home button or use two fingers to pinch. Using just
your thumb you fly through the Home screens at lighting speed.

Have you tried changing the fling speed?

HTC Sense use the optical joystick/trackball to change screens. Very fast and
saves screen from fingerprints. Would love ADW launcher to have this
functionality.

SECONDING THIS. I run an ATRIX with official Gingerbread and this is absolutely
the biggest thing I miss with the official launcher. The weird thing is I can't
find a single other launcher that DOES have this feature besides Blur.
