Just...Some Instructions? #25

This mod seems in concept like an excellent idea. And clearly there are other users that have figured out ways to use it. But to be honest, I haven’t found the interface all that intuitive to use, or transition from one set of functions to another.

It would really be a good idea to give some true instructions of some kind, like even a simple video tutorial or guide example of a simple blueprint creation and copy. Just some idea of what the steps are and how to proceed through this mod’s interface to accomplish what it promises. As it stands, when I’ve tried to use it, I just find the interface a little too bare-bones and not altogether comprehensive.

If the mod can’t save blueprints beyond the play session for example, why do we need folders and sub folders of blueprint sets? Why is selecting things confined to a click-to-click method and not allowing for something like a click-and-drag over an area or select an area similar to Area Actions? For some tighter builds it can be difficult to accurately get in to click and select the smaller belt connections and such.

I really tried to just learn through using it but found navigating it so difficult that I couldn’t work out a consistent pattern of how to do anything.

click-to-click is the default method to select buildings, if you want to select multi-buildings, there are 3 methods in the current version:

  1. hold left mouse key and move your mouse/cursor to select buildings which your mouse sweep
  2. hold left ctrl key and select a rectangle area to select buildings in the rectangle of the screen
  3. switch to connect mode and select all buildings with the same type

The blueprints saving function is released from 0.0.4, I suggest to use the 0.0.7 for the early access branch and 0.0.9 for the experiment branch. I will promote this mod after solving the game balance problem. It needs a consumption system first. The interface of copy/paste functions will be changed after that. If you have any ideas or questions, we can discuss here :)
