Idea: Getting current local time, date and timezone by searching time in madrid
. Google's output:
4:58 PM
Tuesday, February 14, 2017 (GMT+1)
Time in Madrid, Spain
@maximbaz btw, I've already started to work on that:
I'll publish it soon. I think after some polishing it will be enough for first version, later I wanted to show in preview something like worldtimebuddy do
That is so cool! I'd like to suggest to write the time directly in the search box, just like the convertor plugin does, in gray text. That way I get the most important information without even moving my eyes from the search box. Something like that, what do you think?
Just thinking over my potential use cases, most often I want to know either the time or the time zone of a given city. The other information is nice to present, but not as important in most cases.
@maximbaz first version is timezones is here, any ideas improvements are welcome)
I love it  š
A small idea: what do you think about treating time
and/or time now
in a special way, and showing the time in the current location? Or there is no reliable way to tell the current location?
Now when I type time now
, I see Toronto time :)
@maximbaz why do you use Cerebro to see current time, not just OS clock?
I was testing the plugin by entering different values, one of the values was "now" and I was surprised to see Toronto instead of nothing :)
I have no arguments to support this idea :)
my
- search everything I have on connected apps - facebook, google, emails, docs, etc' etc' etc'
is local file search coming for windows (designated folders)?
In #45 @reflog mentioned that he started to work on windows search plugin, but he was stuck with some problem, so now we just need someone who can help him to resolve it
The ability to search and retreive the first paragraph or so of Wikipedia entries as well as the primary Wolfram Alpha results (Which can be fetched extremely easily through their public API. See here for all the APIs that Wolfram Alpha provides publicly, and here for the one that would be the easiest to implement and theme). With just a Wolfram Alpha plugin alone, this system would be made vastly more powerful and useful. Below is an example of a themed result so you don't have to go searching for it.
define using Gnome Dictionary for linux. Likewise contacts search using Gnome Contacts.
Perhaps extension of the converter plugin: convert datetime to unix timestamp and back.
other one is to use multitran for translating instead of yandex http://www.multitran.ru/c/m.exe?a=1 I can work on this plugin since I want it too much :)
Hey guys! i just finished the first version of color convert (rgb to hex and vice versa), i'm currently needing of help to make a implementation of "copy to clipboard" and show the result on "main section" of cerebro, I'll be happy if someone sends the pull request.
https://github.com/rafa-acioly/cerebro-convertcolor
hope you all enjoy.
+1 for Wikipedia & WolframAlpha
Also you could check "Synapse". Maybe it would make things easier for you? It's been my launcher until I discovered yours a few days ago. It implements fuzzy search (I guess) as I don't get the problem with typos.
Search in software centre/app store for apps not installed
Plugin that announces new released or featured plugins.
Plugin to make quick reminders on the fly.
Zeal integration Steam Games Virtualbox Machines
I already developed theses on Synapse, there are also plugins already merged or not that could bring ideas.
Fuzzy search could be usefull as well as regex search (like accents eg: vari[eƩ]t[eƩ]
to handle better different languages)
Weather updates based by default on your location but if you put a place before hand then weather there, could be merged with the time
Dictionary and thesaurus native support would be pretty cool
Hey all, I just put together a very simple plugin for searching php.net manual.
It is here: https://github.com/flavioheleno/cerebro-php
Whenever I have some more time to hack into it, I want to get the results to be displayed inside Cerebro, just like the stackoverflow plugin does.
Hey all, nice tool (I switch from Wox to this one). I think it could be very could to be able to select search engine in the tool parameters. I though about using plugins but if I don't want google as a search engine at all it's not possible unless I recompile from the source.
Having a list of "favorite" search engine could be nice (wikipedia, duckduckgo, qwant...) like in firefox params.
A Spotify control and search plugin would be cool.
following @reflog i made a small plugin to allow for full search on windows environment, it works through Everything CLI by voidtools https://github.com/masterperas/es-everything-plugin
A plugin based on http://www.filechef.com/ search formulas...
@flavioheleno maybe you want to try cerebro-devdocs plugin, that uses https://devdocs.io/. PHP documentation is also available there
cool @KELiON, I'll check it. My idea around cerebro-php is to render the doc right in the display, making it handy for a quick check, but I'm quite far from that at this point :-)
@flavioheleno so, you'll like devdocs plugin:)
ha! that's exactly what I wanted! brilliant @KELiON! I'm gonna ditch my plugin and move over to that one :-D
I would love to see an Evernote plugin which let's you search your notes and quickly add new ones.
It would be great to have a snippets plugin like Alfred https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/
How about integration of the Jarvis Personal assistant? Jarvis demo video
I could help writing plugins for Linux, been wanting to contribute to this project for a while. I'd like to see implemented
A proper file search would be nice with configurable directories and/or volumes on macOS which you can also specify if you want to open the directory the file is on or open the file directly
Fuzzy search (at least on applications) defined as each result contains the letters of the query in order but not necessarily consecutively. For example, vd
would match Vivaldi
.
Theme colour
Change colour of the Cerebro window based on the Windows / GTK theme or whatever.
Simplenote integration
Simplenote has become my go-to note taking app because it's open-source and supports all devices I have running (iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux,). Searching for notes would be a great feature.
@janekkkk
@rafa-acioly Thanks for letting me know this is impossible at the moment.
"The current version of the Simperium API does not allow for 3rd party development of Simplenote apps at this time. We will update this page in the future after we add support. Thanks for your interest!" š
So forget about my Simplenote idea for now.
JavaDocs integration
The possibility to add javadocs documentations from only a URL/Search term.
I'd like to see implemented
@Kwaadpepper check out cerezeal for quick zeal searches with custom shorthand support :)
I would like it more with a Ecoisa search
I would like it more with a Ecoisa search
Hope this helps https://github.com/dubisdev/cerebro-ecosia
the ability to launch games from multiple launchers such as epic games, steam or gog. the only extension that did this is no longer working and worked only for steam and windows (https://github.com/Wolvan/cerebro-steamlaunch).
Would be nice to have:
I would like to add openai ChatGpt here. When I try to get an answer with my question, It opens new browser even though it's the simple question. I guess If we can add toggle button from search to chatgpt button, and can ask questions, it would be great. As I am a developer, I want to implement it here
