ALICE: customise collection descriptions #353

Closed tiborsimko closed 10 years ago

tiborsimko commented 10 years ago

Descriptive text of ALICE collections should be customised:

Currently the text is more of a placeholder nature, saying simply:

"This collection includes ALICE analysis modules"

@mgheata Can you please suggest short phrases to display? (see CMS example)

Note: the short collection blurb will also appear in the boxes here:

Hi Tibor,

I saw that you have organized all data under “ALICE derived datasets”, where in fact there are 2 categories: ALICE reconstructed data (the 2 with “ESD”), and ALICE derived datasets (the VSD one). Can you split in the 2 categories?

Thanks, Mihaela

Hi Mihaela,

It can be two categories (collections) perfectly well. Do you think they would require different metadata/layout? @pherterich can help with that, following #351

@mgheata Can you please provide (very short) phrases for each collection? The phrases will go here:

ALICE Derived datasets: This collection contains reduced information for the reconstructed tracks and their associated clusters from a set of PbPb events. It can be used by with ALICE RAA masterclass package including an event display.

ALICE Reconstructed Data This collection contains files with reconstructed ALICE events in the Event Summary Data (ESD) format and they can be used for standard ALICE analysis.

ALICE Tools This collection contains all software packages needed to run a set of ALICE physics masterclasses and a simple ESD-based analysis.

ALICE external ressources - keep the text on the front page The text from the link is OK, but missing the picture which I've put on post #384 When clicking on these links, the text is still missing (see #405)
