Objet: testing Cessda Metadata Validator

Good afternoon,

I just finished testing the CMV and wanted to say I really liked it. It's a great tool, very clear and comprehensive.

I have two things I would like to mention.

First, I thought it might be nice for the error log to display the type of constraint(s) that is/are not being met. Since the constraints and the profile types are well described in the documentation, it would be nice if when testing a DDI against a more strict profile and, if the type of constraints that are not being met are displayed, I'd immediately know if the DDI is in conformity with a less strict profile.

Second, I thought it would be nice to put the zenodo link to the DDI Codebook Profiles in the Documentation.

I am not sure you'll be able to answer this question but at Ined we were wondering if the conformity to the BasicPlus profile will become a mandatory requirement for references to be displayed in the Catalog. And if so, do you have any idea when ?

Thank you for this very nice tool,

Best,
