Original report on BitBucket by John Shepherdson (GitHub: john-shepherdson).

Audience:

CESSDA SPs (via Basecamp) - John

DDI Alliance (via vocab group meetings?) - Taina

First draft:

“As part of the ongoing enhancements to the CESSDA Vocabulary Service, we are changing the format of the CSV exports of vocabularies, in order to include deprecation information (where relevant).

If you are a consumer of CSV exports, please get in touch so we can understand your Use Cases and try to make non-breaking changes to the format.”

Second draft:

“As part of the ongoing enhancements to the CESSDA Vocabulary Service, we are changing the format of the CSV exports of vocabularies, in order to include information on deprecated codes (where relevant). The CSV export is currently only available in the Editor.

If you are a consumer of CSV exports, please get in touch so we can understand your Use Cases and try to make non-breaking changes to the format.”

Sent to CVS Editor users. They should inform their organisations where needed. Asked for use cases if using CSV export.

DDI Controlled Vocabularies Group consists of CESSDA members except for Sanda. Darren is a member of DDI Technical Committee and he already commented on John’s Basecamp message so should come to the knowledge of TC via Darren, I believe.
