The migration is now in the admin → maintenance → utilities → versioning system migration

Steps to remove the button:

Too late to include it in 3.0.1

This has been done in 121cfcb00841e588a2e044ef486bed4982d3e79a two weeks ago. However, the issues wer not closed due to fail in deployment at the Jenkins' side.
