Dear Dr. Hastik,
Maja Dolinar forwarded your query about possible CVS Agency status for TU Darmstadt. We cannot give you a response until next month when the new Cessda Vocabulary Service (CVS) Service Owner is in place, as this matter must be discussed with them before any decision can be made.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Dear Mr. John Shepherdson,
Great and thank you for your information.
At this point, I would like to take Mrs Borek and Mrs Rapp with me to CC, who will assume institutional responsibility at this point. I would therefore ask you to address Mrs Rapp and Mrs Borek directly in future.
We look forward to working with you.
Best wishes from Darmstadt
Canan Hastik
This was discussed at a CESSDA MO management team meeting. The decision was to offer them a 6 month trail period, during which they will be required to report back to the Service Owner about their experience of using the service. At the end of the trial they can either stop using the service and their content will be removed, or they can pay an annuasl fee to continue using it.

Dear Canan,
Please accept my apologies for not getting back to you sooner to discuss this matter. We can offer you a six month trial access period to the CESSDA Vocabulary Service, during which time you would have your own Agency and curate and publish your own CVs. During that period, we would request feedback from you on 2 or 3 occasions, regarding the usability, features etc of the service and any suggestions for improvement. Towards the end of the trial period, we would meet with you to review the next steps, such as: extension of the trial; monthly/annual fee for access; end of access and possible removal of your content etc. Rest assured that you can export your CVs in a variety of formats at any time whilst they are publicly visible, so there is no question of your content being 'locked in'.
The development and maintenance of the Vocabulary Service is paid for by the CESSDA Members, which is why a fee will be levied for continued access after the trial period - it would be odd to ask the members to pay whilst giving free access to third parties.
If you wish to proceed, please fill out the Agency form. Otherwise, do get back to me with any queries you may have.
Regards,
John
What should annual fee be? 2024 costs: (13k Tech Maint + 17k SO + GCP + MO Tech) approx 50k Euros? so approx 2.3k Euro per SP
Their CVs must be published and visible to the general public. Removal at our discretion (after end of their access to CVS)
Support? Talk to SO. Give them access to CVS issue tracker
Point them to AUP and generic SLA
@john-shepherdson What is the current status?
I contacted them some weeks ago but have had no reply.
I was contacted by Canan Hastik (canan.hastik@tu-darmstadt.de) from TU Darmstadt regarding the use of CVS as an agency following my attendance at the TRIPLE workshop in March 2023 ("Use of vocabularies for metadata curation and quality assessment in Social Sciences and Humanities"). I have made two presentations about functionalities of CVS during 2023 for their TaDiRAH Community of Practice. In February 2024 Canan has contacted me asking for TU Darmstadt to become an agency in CVS (non-CESSDA agency). I have informed John and given her a link to the application form: https://docs.tech.cessda.eu/forms/cvs-agency.html
CESSDA needs to decide whether to give them opportunity to create an agency in CVS or not.
