implement "quote retweet" feature #354

Hi, I love silverbird, but miss some functionality available, e.g. in the Twitter iPhone app.

In the iphone's twitter app, you can 'Reply to', 'Retweet', or 'Quote Retweet'. The latter allows you to add a few words (if length allows) or an additional short URL, or slightly edit the tweet for clarity, of for fun ;)

Would that be an interesting feature?

This is already possible. Each tweet has four icons: Favorite, reply, retweet, share (oldschool RT). That last one is the one you want.

Oh, I see ... but it's not a very informative label ... why not rename it to 'Quote retweet'?

I could not guess what 'share (oldschool RT)' meant, and why 'share' would be different to reply or retweet. I just thought it had something to do with an old protocol, and that it was there just for backward compatibility.

Thanks for the info. Will start using it. But please, if at all possible, rename it!

Cheers,

fernan

Renaming that button "Quote (old RT)" could work. "Share (old-school RT)" is indeed a rather unintuitive label.
