When I set zoom to 100% in preferences (and not by ctrl+mouse scroll) then silverbird window appears fine. Looks like it doesn't handle google chrome zoom feature correctly.
So looks like two bugs here: 1) zoom set in preferences unused/not correctly used by silverbird 2) zoom set by ctrl+mouse scroll setting not reflected by silverbird
Silver Bird Plus handles this correctly. Didn't notice earlier that there is another (maintained) fork of Silver Bird.
Actually Plus have it's own issues (cutting text if zoom is active)
zoom set to 120% in google chrome preferences:
Found a workaround. Open silverbird options page and change zoom there to 100%. The same zoom level will be applied to regular silverbird window (the one with tweets). Also looks like chrome remembers this setting even after browser restart. End result: 120% zoom for pages, 100% zoom for silverbird.
The worse problem is on different hardware with high DPI (236). Now I NEED big zoom level because fonts are too small (google chrome is buggiest ever when dealing with high DPI on Linux). Unfortunately above problem comes back - when zoom set to 200% texts are nice and big but silverbird window it soo small and not everything fit on it.
silverbird windows twits are shown too wide, wider than rest of silverbird UI. That causes horizontal scroll bar to appear and makes using silverbird unfriendly
google chrome 25.0.1364.172 under KDE on Linux. google chrome has default zoom set to 125% but changing it (by ctrl+mouse scroll) to 100% didn't make silverbird happy.
