Plans for a SASS/ SCSS version? #1

Closed jwebcat closed 11 years ago

The framework looks baller. :+1:

Any plans to make a scss version so that parts can be left out?

i.e. have each part a different partial and only import the partials that you need for the project.

Also, the core variables and colors for the project could be changes a lot more efficiently.

@jwebcat - Thanks! It's definitely something I've considered, but it's not on the immediate roadmap.

I agree, though - it would make including Add-Ons and customizing colors/sizes etc. a lot easier. Many of the add-ons also include JS components, though, so it's not quite as cut-and-dry as that.

Regardless, this will remain on the "Someday/Maybe" list for Kraken. I'm closing this issue and filing it on my feature request list.

Thanks!

This is on the list for the kraken-rails gem, as well. It would fit in beautifully with the asset pipeline.

If i have a bit of free time i will hack on it. On May 23, 2013 2:13 PM, "Jordan Burke" notifications@github.com wrote:

If you make any progress, shoot me a PR for the gem: https://github.com/PendragonDevelopment/krakenrails

Consider it done :-) I really like this little framework and would be happy to contribute! El may 23, 2013 2:17 PM, "Jordan Burke" notifications@github.com escribió:

Well that's badass! I'm glad you called it "little", because it's deliberately small and Lego-like in its implementation.

Nice bro! :-) I was admiring that aspect quite a bit. let's get SASSY. I should have enough time to pump it out Tomorrow. El may 23, 2013 2:21 PM, "Chris Ferdinandi" notifications@github.com escribió:

Excellent. It's probably important to preserve a compiled version, too, for folks who don't use Sass/.scss.

jslegers commented 11 years ago

I'm currently working on an SCSS version of my own framework Cascade Framework.

Like Kraken, Cascade Framework uses an OOCSS architecture and is intended to be bloat free.

Any interest in joining forces?

cferdinandi commented 11 years ago

@jslegers - Just a heads up: @jwebcat launched his Sass fork of Kraken a month or two ago. http://jwebcat.github.io/kraken-sass/

cferdinandi commented 11 years ago

@jslegers - I noticed you've taken a similar "component" approach to your framework. Love it!

jwebcat commented 11 years ago

@chrisferdanandi I have been so busy with work bro. How is Kraken any changes to merge? I haven't been able to check.

I hope you have been well.

@jslegers hit me up if you need any help with the sass version. On Jul 25, 2013 8:25 AM, "Chris Ferdinandi" notifications@github.com wrote:

@jwebcat - Great question. I think there may have been a few changes to some of the plugins - notably the Petfinder API and Tabby.

@chrisferdanandi

Cool, I Will update them as soon as I get a chance. On Jul 26, 2013 12:28 PM, "Chris Ferdinandi" notifications@github.com wrote:
