Feature Request: automatic surface velocity vector heading in attitude control module #14

Request the ability to lock "heading" to the surface velocity vector's over-ground component and it's anti-component. The desired outcome is that the attitude control slider is in the plane of motion perpendicular to the surface. A single pro/retro toggle could be sufficient, however, expanding the attitude module input would be desirable in the long run.

An example use case is a constant-altitude approach for a simple lander over Mun. Activating the toggle would keep the thrust pointed in the direction of travel while the attitude slider could be used to manage vertical speed/altitude while decelerating from orbital velocities.

Automation of the boomy-end is not desired in this module as that is the creative expression of the pilot.

Hello @DarthRust. I'm not sure to really understand what you would like... In The attitude controler you would like button to force to horizontal prograde/retrograde (removing the vertical speed ). The Attitude slider would control the vertical... direction.

could you give some more details or hand made driagram of what you would like to have.

thanks
