Orlando Walking Tours - a mobile app designed to take users on a self guided tour of historic Orlando
What is your project concept or idea? What challenge or opportunity will it solve?
The City of Orlando has a lot of history that many who live and visit here may not know is even there. Some of these historic landmarks are even on the National Registry of Historic Landmarks. The purpose of this app is to give residents and visitors alike the opportunity to learn about these historic places by taking a self-guided walking tour around Orlando!
Who will benefit from your project? Describe the humans at the center of the problem - who are they?
How would they benefit? Can you tell their story?

What is the current state of your project idea?
The project idea is pretty fully realized as we have already started developing both versions of the app.

Do you have any links to news articles, text, mockups, code, or data?
The iOS app has recently been restarted in Swift, but there was a lot done in the previous Objective-C version, which is still available in the code history. The Android app is just getting off the ground. You can view our Github repos at the following links:

What is your background? Why is this challenge important to you?
Are you representing a group in submitting this project idea?
I am just one of a team of developers, designers, and others who are interested in providing this app to anyone who shares an interest in Orlando's history. Personally, I have learned so much about Orlando already just by walking the routes myself and doing initial research into the varied history of Orlando.
