@dan-padgett @angelcardoz There are still some open questions related to this Epic/page. I'm seeing that we haven't created Story issues for any of the User stories listed here: https://github.com/cfpb/sbl-project/issues/10#issue-1830003338

I think it would help to review the user stories and decide which should be prioritized for MVP. Then we can create the specific Story issues so that the devs can create tasks based on those stories.

Here's the list and my notes:

Represented in mock-ups

These still need some thinking/review

  • Is this a link to the financial institution details (Salesforce) form or the general help form or something else?

I had the same question. After reviewing the proposed HELP forms, I think this could be a link to the "Complete your user profile details" Form.

Regarding the email change, the way I understand it, the issue is simply to direct user to their login.gov account, so you are correct, it is already represented in the mockup. However, we do ask for email address in the proposed HELP forms, so it could create some confusion during Beta.

natalia-fitzgerald commented 11 months ago

@angelcardoz The current mock-up indicates that a user should go to the user profile form to associate with additional institutions.

The text reads: "If the financial institution you are authorized to file for is not shown below or if you are authorized to file for multiple financial institutions, please fill out the user profile form (above)."

We could probably improve the language/execution but the intent aligns with what you're thinking.

In terms of confusion about the email addresses between the form and Login.gov I had this same concern so I added language to the user profile form indicating that the user should provide the financial institution email address used to sign in with Login.gov.

These two bullets are at odds with our current thinking around trying to use one form for both tasks:

  • The Request changes to your user profile should be used to check what user profile details we have on file and request any changes.
  • The Complete user profile screen, is optimized for first-time users, and acting as more of a gate to insure the user is fully configured prior to entering the rest of the system.

About the email change:

As a filer, I want to update/change my email address, so that I can keep my FI email address current.

I agree that it seems like they probably need to go through Login.gov for this, but I think the content should also be on the change form as well (not just on the read-only profile page). If a user is focused on getting to the form to make a change, it's not a bad thing to have that information repeated.

Yes, I'm working on updating the mock-ups to the one form approach. the epic post (above) does not include these new mock-ups yet. Currently there is a read-only interim screen (in the app) for the "View user profile" page (iser can view the details we have for them) and if they want to make a change they can click the link to the ONE form (in Salesforce) that we've been discussing. The "complete user profile" flow skips right to the Salesforce form for users with no financial institution match by email domain and does not have an in the app interim page for these specific users.

Next steps

angelcardoz commented 11 months ago

@sthomas93, I went ahead and created issues #68, #69, #70, #71, and #72 as I reviewed the list of stories. Please take a look and feel free to edit as you deem appropriate.

sthomas93 commented 10 months ago

@angelcardoz I think these are all fine and capture what we're looking for in advance of any additional review. @natalia-fitzgerald Let me know if these user stories satisfy the requirements to add additional acceptance criteria and match FIGMA file screenshots.

@angelcardoz @sthomas93 - I updated this issue to include the latest mock-ups for the View and Update your user profile forms. I think that when this epic was created we had one form that would serve as both View and Update. I think we need to do some work on this to make sure that we are either accounting for View and Update in this single Epic (or, if not have a separate epic for View).

We should also update the story issues to reflect MVP. The designs I have included here assume an update form but currently the plan for MVP is something else. We should capture the MVP plan for these user stories.

natalia-fitzgerald commented 8 months ago

@angelcardoz I changed the name to include View and update. I will do the same for the financial institution profile.
