I have updated my README description using Markdown. I was a little startled at first because I had never heard about Markdown before, and was not sure how to use it. However I recommend the following tutorial : https://guides.github.com/features/mastering-markdown/
Good job! This is a solid submission, meets all required criteria!
You have clearly shown that you can use headers, emphasis, lists and links!
Perhaps try an image? It jazzes up the page and is a slightly more advanced use of markdown.
Removing the first "#hw1" line etc that appears before your "Welcome.." message would have made the page more aesthetically appealing.
I see you only have one commit - this is absolutely fine but for more complicated assignments, make sure you commit early and often - it gives you earlier versions to go back to!

Maybe you found this one : https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/ but I think it is less clear than the one I signaled above.
Markdown is quite easy to master, especially for basic functions such as Headers.
